Are you caught in the net of cyber criminals..? Got greedy and lost money..? Do you think there is no result of the case? Don’t Worry.. Be Happy..! Your money won’t go anywhere. Telangana police say it will definitely come back to you. But immediately after the crime, only those who have done that will get the money..!
Cybercrime.. these words are always heard somewhere there. Almost everyone we meet is affected by it. They are greedy and strong in the hands of cyber criminals. It has become common to run to police stations after losing a lot of money. DGP Ravigupta himself said that cyber crimes have increased by 70 percent over law and order in Telangana state during the last one year. For that, meetings were arranged with cyber experts and suggestions were taken. The number of cases is constantly increasing which brings awareness among people. So, the authorities are making efforts to support the victims at such a time.
The city’s cyber crime police have been successful in recovering money lost by victims of cyber frauds within days. In the jurisdiction of Cyberabad Commissionerate in January 2024 this year in 63 cases Rs. 2.53 crores were re-deposited in the bank accounts of the victims. After Gujarat it became possible here. In the past, recovery of money lost in cyber cases was impossible. The Cybercrime Police has studied the procedure followed by the Gujarat Police for recovery in these types of crimes. Officials say the recovery is fast as there is a 1930 call center for cyber complaints and the Cyber Security Bureau mainly works on online fraud.
Immediately after a cyber crime is reported, the bank accounts of the accused are frozen by the police through NCRP and the National Cyber Crime Complaint Portal. Suspects transfer victim’s money to other accounts and convert it into crypto currency. In this context, the police officials said that a complaint should be made to 1930 as soon as the fraud occurs, otherwise the bank accounts will be frozen and the money will not be diverted to other accounts. After registering the case, the police suggest that the victim should file a petition under section 457 of CrPC in the concerned court with the help of the investigating officer.
The court orders the banks to return the money to the victims after looking into the manner of transfer and other evidence that the money lost in cyber crime is in frozen accounts. Following this the banks complete the next process. Similar to Cyberabad Commissionerate, Hyderabad and Rachakonda police are also following them to complete cyber crime. But if the cyber crime police is approached immediately after the money is gone, it is said that there will be results.
