The release of director Ram Gopal Varma’s Tathagata is facing successive hurdles. The shooting of this film, which was supposed to be released sometime, is getting postponed due to various reasons. Many political parties are strongly objecting to this movie based on the life story of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy. The TDP and Congress leaders went to the court alleging that Verma’s strategy film was made to humiliate their leaders. Due to this, the release of the strategy, which was supposed to hit the theaters on November 10, has been postponed. However, after somehow getting the censor permissions, RGV announced that he will release his film on December 29. With this, the TDP leaders once again approached the court. The Telangana High Court hearing these petitions on Friday put brakes on the release of the film. The court ruled that the film contained objectionable scenes and withheld the Censor Board certificate. The film has been ordered not to be released till January 11. It also adjourned the next hearing to January 11.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad City Civil Court, which heard another petition filed against the film Varma Ttaja, issued key orders. Not only in theatres, but also on OTT, YouTube and social media, the film has been ordered not to be released. With this, it seems that RGV has received another huge blow. Samir Ajmal of Rangam fame played the role of CM Jagan in the movie Tathagata. Also actress Manasa acted in the role of YS Bharti. Dasari Kiran Kumar produced the strategy film under the banner of Rama Doota Creations.
