Giddalur MLA Anna Venkata Rambabu is a mass leader with a good following among the people. In 2009, he made a political debut on behalf of the Praja Rajyam Party. He was successful as a legislator in his first attempt. After the division of the state, the Telugu Desam Party took a scarf. In 2014, he contested on behalf of TDP and lost. After that, he resigned from TDP in 2017 and joined Jagan’s party. In 2019, he won again in the assembly elections. Everyone thought that the ministerial position would come in the expansion of the second-term cabinet. But he did not get it. However, he is working with YCP while staying in public sector. But the recent decision taken by Anna Venkata Rambabu has become a hot topic of discussion in politics.
Giddalur YCP MLA Anna Rambabu said that he cannot fit in the current politics and hence decided to leave politics. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he stated that there were health reasons to withdraw from politics. “I was targeted by a major social group in Vaikapa. That social group is giving me a lot of trouble. District party leaders were told but ignored. What did the Magunta family do to Prakasam district for 34 years? The people of the district should not support the Magunta family in the next election. Rambabu said that he will travel all over the district to defeat Magunta.
He made it clear that even if a section of the party is against him, he will remain in the YCP. He will not change from other parties. He said that the YCP leadership will work for the victory of whoever is announced as the MLA candidate in Giddalur. The other leaders, who have been belittling me and my community for a long time, have asked me to work together and not let the YCP candidate win in Giddalur. With this, Giddalur MLA came into the discussion not only in the district but also in the state. We have to wait and see what kind of decision the administration takes on this.
