The Brahmotsavam of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Ashtama Salakatla started in a grand manner in Dokiparru, Gudlavalleru Mandal, Krishna District. Brahmotsavams started under the leadership of temple administrators Kommareddy Bapireddy, Vijaya Bhaskaramma and Prasanna. As a sign of the beginning of the festivities, the Vedic scholars performed a special Snapana Thirumanjanam for the idols in the temple.
On the Toli Day of the Utsavas, Snapana Thirumanjanam, Senadhipati Utsavam, Kankuraropan, Vahanam and Palanki Seva were conducted. A large number of devotees and people of Dokiparru village participated in the program. Sridhar, the head teacher of the temple, said that just as Brahmotsavams are conducted according to the path of Divyashri Vaikhanasa Bhagava Chastra, in Tirumala with Triayahanika Deeksha to Lord Venkateswara Swami of seven hills, they are also conducted in Dokiparru.
Every day till December 2 special homams, utsavas, oonjas and vahana services are held as part of Brahmotsavam. According to Vaikhanasa and Agama Shastra, Vedic scholars have explained in Anugrah Bhashana that the fruits of Archana Kainkaryas performed in Dokiparru Mahakshetra will be given to the king, state, village, owner, acharya, archaka and attendant according to their glory. Sri Venkateswara Swamy installed them in Dokiparru Mahakshetra on Chitta Nakshatra day in 2015. Bapireddy and Vijayabhaskaramma said that every year Brahmotsavams are started three days before that star.
On the first morning, abhishekam was performed for all the idols in the temple. In the evening, under the guidance of Vikhasanacharya and Vishvaksena, they went to the Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple attached to the Mahakshetra, prayed to Goddess Bhudevi, brought puttaman and put new grains soaked in milk in 12 mounds. The flag hoisting ceremony at the temple will take place tomorrow morning. After that Suryaprabha Vahanam, Seshavahanotsavam, Oonjala Seva in the evening, Hamsa Vahanotsavam and Ekanta Seva will be performed.
