The court gave severe punishment to the intoxicated lover. The court sentenced the accused to 60 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor girl and getting her pregnant. The court recently gave a sensational verdict on this case which took place in 2012. Women and public groups expressed their anger towards this verdict.
A husband and wife from Suryapet district came to Nalgonda town with their two daughters for employment. They are living in Arjalabavi under Nalgonda municipal area and earning their livelihood. Nizamuddin alias Nijju from Chitya who works as centering is staying next to their house. He behaved rudely by buying chocolates and showing the cell phone to the minor girl. The parents of the girl noticed this and vacated the house and took rent elsewhere. However, Nizamuddin did not change his mind and raped the girl several times in the absence of her parents. He threatened the girl not to tell her parents.
But the girl told her parents that she couldn’t bear the stomach pain for a few days, and after a doctor’s examination, it was found that she was pregnant. In December 2012, the girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police. The police registered a case against him under the POCSO Act and arrested him. Nalgonda Rural SCI Kancharla Bhaskar Reddy registered an FIR on this incident and the then CI Chandrasekhar Reddy investigated. A charge sheet has been filed in the court with all the technical evidence of the complete investigation. Recently after hearing this case, Nalgonda District First Additional Sessions Court Judge Tirupati announced that the accused was found guilty and sentenced him to 60 years in prison.
Also, the court ruled that the criminal was sentenced to 60 years in prison and 20 years in prison concurrently. The court ordered the victim to pay Rs.10 lakh compensation from the government and the accused also to pay Rs.60 thousand. Senior police officials congratulated the police and lawyers who worked hard to punish the accused. Women and public groups expressed their anger towards this verdict.
