The construction work of Bhogapuram Green Field Airport, which is considered to be the key to the development of Uttarandhra, is progressing at a fast pace. However, Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy asked the GMR to ensure that the works are completed within 30 months instead of 36 months, and he expressed his willingness to do so. As promised by GMR, the construction work started immediately after the foundation stone was laid. At first, everyone thought that the construction of the airport would be delayed. But recently the representatives of Uttarandhra YCP together with the media inspected the construction works of Bhogapuram Airport. The public representatives and media representatives who visited were surprised to see the progress in the construction work of the airport. The work is going on day and night with huge advanced machines and hundreds of workers. Looking at the ongoing construction works, it is known that the construction of Bhogapuram Green Field Airport will be completed by December 2025.
The state government has handed over 2,203 acres of land to GMR for the construction of this airport. This airport will be constructed with a runway of 3.8 km at this place. GMR company will spend about 4.750 crores for this. About 16 kilometers of the protective wall to be built around the airport has already been completed. GMR has entrusted some of the airport construction works to L&T, a leading construction company. Apart from this, some other works were directly constructed by GMR company. Grandhi Mallikarjana Rao, the head of GMR Company, who is famous for the construction of airports in many countries around the world, his home district is Vizianagaram district, and in that district he has undertaken the construction of Bhogapuram Green Field Airport, so he is carrying out the work very ambitiously. On the other hand, the high officials of the state government and public representatives are also monitoring the progress of the construction work from time to time and increasing aggressiveness. It is no exaggeration to say that in another 24 months, the most prestigious Greenfield Airport will start flights.
