South Africa vs India, 2nd T20I: The Indian cricket team’s tour of South Africa did not start well. The first T20 match between India and South Africa was canceled due to rain. The second T20 International match between the two teams at Kebarha on Tuesday went in favor of the host team. Under the Duckworth-Lewis rule, India lost by 5 wickets to South Africa with seven balls to spare.
Batting first, the Indian team scored 180 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 19.3 overs. Then the Proteas team revised the target of 152 runs in 15 overs. South Africa reached the target in 13.5 overs with the loss of five wickets. With this, South Africa took a 1-0 lead in the three T20 series. The third and final match of the series between the two teams will be played in Johannesburg on Thursday.
At this time, Indian team openers Yashaswi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill created unwanted records in their name. The Gill-Jaiswal duo repeated the unwanted feat of the Indian openers in the T20 International match. In the second T20 international match against South Africa, both Yashaswi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were dismissed without opening their account. Jaiswal was dismissed by Marco Janssen and Gill got out lbw off the bowling of Lizard Williams.
A solid fight from #TeamIndia but it was South Africa who won the 2nd #SAvIND T20I (via DLS Method).
We will look to bounce back in the third & final T20I of the series. 👍 👍

This is the second time that both the Indian openers have been dismissed without opening an account in the T20 international format. Earlier in the match against Pakistan in Mirpur in 2016, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane opened the innings for India, but both were dismissed without opening their account. The Jaiswal-Gil duo repeated the feat seven years later. The Jaiswal-Gill pair will be looking to give India a strong start in the third T20I against South Africa. The Indian team hopes to win the third match and level the series at 1-1.
