Hyderabad, December 12: The new Congress government formed in Telangana on Tuesday (December 12) appointed new commissioners for three commissionerates in Hyderabad. Anti-Narcotics Bureau has appointed new commissioners for the three commissionerates along with the head. Kothakota Srinivas Reddy has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) of Hyderabad. G Sudhir Babu has been appointed as Rachakonda Police Commissioner. Avinash Mohanty has been appointed as Cyberabad Police Commissioner and Sandeep Sandilya as Director of Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau.
After the formation of the Congress government in Telangana, IPS transfers were initiated for the first time. Five IPS officers on key responsibilities were transferred on Tuesday. The government has decided to transfer the Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates. Due to this, Devendrasingh Chauhan and M. Stephen Ravindra, who are currently Rachakonda and Cyberabad Police Commissioners, have been transferred, and the government has issued orders that they should report to the Director General of Police. To this extent, the government has stated in the orders.
It is known that Sandeep Sandilya was appointed as the CP of Hyderabad after the Election Commission (EC) refused to transfer CV Anand before the Telangana Assembly elections. After CV Anand’s transfer was rejected, three names were mainly heard in the Hyderabad CP race. The names of Sandeep Sandilya, Sanjay Kumar Jain and Kothakota Srinivas Reddy were mentioned. Everyone thought that Srinivas Reddy would be appointed among them. As expected, Kothakota Srinivas Reddy took charge as CP. Kothakota Srinivas Reddy is one of the most transferred IPS officers in the state. Avinash Mohanty is known as a sincere IPS officer. On the other hand, the Election Commission on Tuesday lifted the suspension of Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar, who was suspended for allegedly violating the election code of conduct on the day of counting of votes.
