Belt Shops in Telangana: Hyderabad: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has advised the top officials to clamp down on drug circulation. On the other hand, the Congress government is taking steps towards closing the belt shops. Especially because of the belt shops in the villages, the youth and children are getting addicted to alcohol and there is a plan to ban one lakh belt shops across the state (Ban on Belt Shops). CM Revanth Reddy thinks that this liquor sale in the villages should be banned after calculating the number of belt shops and eliminating the bad consequences caused by them.
The leaders of that party said that they will close the belt shops if the Congress comes to power. Immediately after coming to power, CM Revanth Reddy signed to fulfill two of the six guarantees. According to the orders of CM Revanth Reddy, the higher officials should prepare a report on the belt shops in the state. There are 2,620 wine shops in the state. There are 12,769 village panchayats in Telangana.. There are 5 to 10 belt shops in each village. There are at least one lakh belt shops across the state. In many places, alcohol is sold continuously in these belt shops. Due to this there is a chance that youths as well as students get addicted to bad alcohol and ruin their lives. On the other hand, belt shops reduce the revenue of the state. The Congress government has started ground work to put an iron foot on the belt shops to close them down.

CM Revanth Reddy has ordered the top officials to clamp down on the circulation and consumption of narcotics in the state. Dr. BR Ambedkar reviewed the issue of narcotics control in the Telangana Secretariat on Monday. State Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, State Government Chief Secretary Shantikumari, DGP Ravi Gupta and senior officials attended this review meeting.
CM Revanth Reddy ordered to take strict action against drug use and sale in the state. It is suggested to appoint a full-fledged director to the existing Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau and to strengthen that department. It was ordered to provide necessary funds, resources and other facilities to this department. They want to give utmost priority to prevention of sale and circulation of narcotics. It is stated that T.S.Nab should be developed in the state’s generation of gray hands and octopus. He made it clear that the state should be made a drug-free state. In this review meeting, senior officers of various departments of Excise, Prohibition Department, Drug Control Board and Police Department were present.
