The Election Commission is making arrangements for the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh. The Election Commission officials are busy preparing the voter list which is crucial in the election process. The Election Commission has already announced the draft voter list in October. A deadline has been set for objections, new registration of vote and transfer of vote from one area to another area. However, leaders of the opposition Telugu Desam Party along with the ruling YSR Congress Party have been complaining that large-scale irregularities have taken place in the draft list.
There are complaints like hundreds of people having voter ID cards with the same house number and one person having the right to vote in more than one place. The YSR Congress Party has also complained that voters who have exercised their right to vote in Telangana should not be allowed to vote in Andhra Pradesh and double entries should be removed. On the other hand, both the main parties are also complaining to the CEO that they are removing the votes of their party sympathizers. The party leaders are complaining that the votes of Telugu Desam Party sympathizers are being removed from booth level officers to collectors. The series of complaints continues. With this, the Election Commission is conducting investigations on such complaints from time to time.
On the other hand, senior IPS officers have also been appointed district-wise inspectors to resolve complaints from political parties and people. These officials conduct district wise meetings and give instructions to the district level officials on the design of the voter list and are personally examining where the complaints are received. All this process has come to an end. The deadline for voter registration and other changes will end tomorrow.
New Vote, Voter ID Address Change, Last Chance to Delete
Election Commission officials are busy preparing the voter list for the 2024 assembly elections in the state. As part of this, the final SSR will be released on January 5th. And through Form-6A, those who are abroad and have an Indian passport have the opportunity to register as a voter. And there will be a chance to cancel the vote through the crucial form – 7. Form-7 is used to withdraw vote or raise objection. These forms have to be completed by keeping passport photo, age proof, address proof, phone number with you. You can also register offline with Electoral Registration Officer or Booth Level Officer. The process of filling these forms is fast across the state. However, complaints are being received by the EC that regarding the cancellation of votes, Form-7s are being used more and are being canceled without the voter’s permission. At the same time, CEO Mukesh Kumar Meena is receiving complaints that people who are in favor of their party are being committed to new voting rights through Form-6. But as the deadline is ending on 9th of this month, EC has paid special attention.
