handloom weaving center in Mangalagiri: Mangalagiri: TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh (Nara Lokesh) is not only half but also his wife Nara Brahmini (Nara Brahmani). Brahmini took the first step by making Nara Lokesh’s plans to give a helping hand to handloom weavers while excelling as a businessman on the one hand. Taking her husband’s word that she would adopt Cheneta as her path, Tata started Vivarashala with their help.
TDP youth leader Nara Lokesh aims to permanently solve the problems faced by handloom workers in his Mangalagiri constituency as well as across the state. Many plans have been made for this. The problems of handlooms were studied. Yuvagalam was moved more by seeing the hardships and tears of the weavers in the padayatra. He announced that he would adopt the handloom sector and gave some assurances.
– 200 units of free electricity for looms and 500 units for looms
– Grant of loans along with subsidies for purchase of raw material
– Abolition of GST on handloom textiles
– Construction of common working sheds in areas where handloom weavers are present
– Rs.10 lakh compensation to families of handloom weavers who committed suicide
As part of the implementation of these promises, a pilot project to help handloom weavers was taken up in his Mangalagiri constituency. Ratnas are already being distributed free of cost in Mangalagiri. Amma Bhuvaneswari got the first blessings for the big program started by Lokesh with Satsankalpa with the aim of protecting handlooms beyond politics. Nara Bhuvaneswari, who visited Mangalagiri constituency as part of Nizhja Gelawali program, brought a Mangalagiri handloom saree and expressed the importance they give to handlooms and handloom clothes.
Lokesh’s dream come true with wife Brahmini
Wife Brahmini has joined her husband Nara Lokesh in making his dream come true as he strives to bring the handloom to its former glory. Tata Tanera started Weaver Shala with the help of NRIs and handlooms. Tanera CEO Ambuja Narayana in his capacity as Executive Director of Heritage Foods performed a special pooja at Nara Brahmini Weavershala. Brahmin Mangalagiri handloom sarees were worn for this program and wide publicity was given to Mangalagiri handloom sarees.
Brahmani who inquired about the problems of the workers
Nara Brahmani, who inspected the modern handlooms set up at Weavershala and the handloom dyeing shed at Atmakuru, inquired about the problems. The weavers complained that they are facing many health problems due to the chemicals used in the dyeing process and that they do not have enough income for the trouble. It has been identified that there is a need to improve working conditions, training in modern touch of clothes, use of machines and health protection measures. He opined that if the marketing of woven sarees can be done without dalaris, the handloom weavers will get additional income.
Nara Brahmini visited the Women’s Shakti Training Center started by Nara Lokesh to empower women to become self-employed. The administrators explained that they have already trained thousands of people in 47 batches and provided free sewing machines. She expressed her happiness that it is a wonderful program and it makes me happy to see the power of women.
