Hyderabad, January 8: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi directed the officials to resolve the pleas received from the public within a week as part of the Prajavani programme. During a public address on Monday, the mayor received requests from the public at the LB Nagar zonal office. He said that a decision has been taken to organize a public radio program to solve the public problems, and it has been started from today to solve the problems of the people in the greater circle and zonal level. Similarly, a public hearing will be held at the headquarters on January 22, the mayor said. He said that on this occasion, among the requests received on various issues, most of them came on the issues related to the town planning department. Immediately after the public address program, the requests received were reviewed with the DC Town Planning Sanitation officials. The Mayor has issued instructions to the officials to examine the requests received at the field level and take appropriate action. If there are illegal constructions in the town planning, action should be taken as prescribed. The DCs were directed to take immediate action on the complaints received on sanitation. The mayor directed to pay special attention in the slum area for the prevention of mosquitoes. The mayor ordered the officials to respond immediately and take appropriate action when government property was encroached upon.
Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi became serious with the authorities for not taking any action regarding the increasing number of dog bite problems in the city. When the mayor questioned the officials on this, the officials said that there is no existence of a high level committee like the one on dogs, and that the committee was removed after the report was given, that’s why the WhatsApp group was also deleted. The veterinary officers were ordered to take measures to prevent dog bites and dog bites and to check whether the sterilization of dogs is being done properly. The veterinary officer explained that the committee will meet at the zonal level every month on this matter. The Mayor scrutinized each application and handed it over to the concerned authority for resolution. Zonal Commissioner Pankaja was directed to send the action taken on each application in writing to the applicant and also to submit the report by Saturday.
On this occasion, many corporators heard the problems of their ward to the Mayor. Radha, Venkateswara Reddy and Pawan Kumar explained to the mayor about the development and other problems in the ward and said that action will be taken immediately. The mayor directed the officials to immediately resolve the various problems described by the corporators. Zonal Commissioner Pankaja, Maintenance SE Ashok Reddy, DCU, Town Planning, Entomology, Veterinary and Sanitation department officials participated in this program.
