Recently, an international coordination review meeting was held in Srikakulam on Saturday. SPs of Srikakulam, Barampur, Gajapati and Ganjam districts of Orissa participated in this meeting. The SPs of the respective districts have decided to take strong measures to curb the crimes taking place on the border in coordination with the police officers. Srikakulam District SP GR Radhika held an international coordination review meeting with Barampur SP Saravana Vivek M Gajapathi and District SP Swati S Kumari at Srikakulam District Police Office. Ganjam SP Saravana Vivek M participated in this meeting from Barampur through virtual mode. As part of this, pending NBW raids, old criminals, check post, illegal liquor and medico legal cases were reviewed. Srikakulam District SP Radhika spoke on this occasion.
Srikakulam district has approximately 115 kilometers border with Gajapati and Ganjam districts. He said that 8 police stations and 6 SEB police stations are taking strong measures to prevent crimes taking place on the border. It has been found that the manufacture and sale of natusara is going on in 53 villages in the border area, and the SP has asked them to conduct joint raids in the respective villages to eradicate the manufacture and sale of natusara on a full scale. They want to gather advance information and carry out coordinated surprise attacks on the bases. He asked to take strict measures to stop illegal liquor traffic.
He said that in the background of the upcoming elections, old criminals should be monitored and binders should be registered. He said that four inter-state check posts are being specially set up in the district, special party personnel will be assigned to be vigilant 24 hours at the respective check posts and extensive vehicle checks will be carried out. She said that measures are being taken to prevent illegal transportation. The SP suggested that we should cooperate to make the districts crime-free by working together in a coordinated manner to prevent any smuggling, crimes and thefts from taking place in the borders of the three districts.
