For regularization in Telangana, it has been learned that the Higher Education Department has asked the higher officials of the Central Crime Station to investigate and confirm whether the PhD degrees submitted by some contract employees are genuine or fake. The employees submitted certificates of completion of PhDs and PGs from more than 40 private universities in more than ten states like Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, Darbhanga in Bihar, Ramgarh in Jharkhand. It is reported that due to the complaints received, a comprehensive investigation and report was requested in October, but no step forward was made due to the election process.
Proposals were received from the concerned colleges in April last year for the regularization of over 800 contractual and part-time faculty in degree colleges. They got the approval of the finance department and the approval of the cabinet in July this year. Regularization of contract or part-time lecturers should have PG along with Ph.D. OR NET, SET should qualify. As a result, most of the PhD candidates have submitted their certificates. After sorting out a few first, more proposals came in.
All the PhDs are from private universities in other states, and there are more than 140 people who have obtained PhDs from 40 universities in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Pondicherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Haryana, Odisha and other states.
