Deputy CM Bhatti Comments on State Debts: Deputy CM and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that the previous government had drowned every department in debt. They were angry that they had taken huge debts to buy electricity. At present, dues of Rs.59,580 crore under power purchase are pending. He visited the Bhadradri thermal project on Saturday and personally inspected the construction works. Later he spoke to the media. They have incurred huge debts as they are building Bhadradri Thermal Power Station and Yadadri Power Station. The state has been brought to a terrible state. That is why we released white papers in the assembly and tried to explain the facts to some extent to the people. In the current situation, there is a need to take steps with a plan and foresight. We are conducting reviews with the relevant authorities on the latest situation in each department. We are going to the projects at the field level and getting to know the conditions.’ He said.
Singareni has arrears of Rs.19 thousand crores
Bhatti said that Singareni owed Rs. 19 thousand crores to Singareni as they had pushed the electricity department into debt by claiming that they had electricity. He clarified that he will visit all the projects and collect comprehensive information about them and bring them to the public. It was explained that the previous BRS government had incurred debts of Rs.81,514 crores, and Rs.28,000 crores were due from the government to the DISCMs. He said that the Yadadri power project has a debt of Rs.50 thousand crores. Bhadradri Thermal Power Station will use supercritical technology and will go ahead with the suggestions of experts without harming the environment.
