Warangal Politics: Assembly election battle is over. The Congress party which won the majority of seats in this election will take over the power and rule. If this is the case, as the parliamentary elections are coming up in another three months, the eyes of the leaders of the respective parties have fallen on the MP positions. Candidates who lost MLA elections, sitting candidates and other leaders are contesting for MP seats. Three and four leaders from the respective parties are contesting for the post of Warangal MP. Whose efforts are they making?
There are two MP constituencies in the combined Warangal district. One is Warangal Parliament and two is Mahbubabad Parliament. Warangal Parliament seat is SC reservation while Mahabubabad Parliament seat is ST reservation. When it comes to the Warangal MP seat, the Congress candidate Sirisilla Rajaiah has won for the first time since the 2009 redistricting. Kadiam Srihari was elected from TRS in 2014. Pasunuri Dayakar from TRS won the by-election in 2015 with the resignation of Kadiam Srihari and the 2019 election.
There is a lot of competition from major political parties for the post of Warangal MP. The competition for Warangal MP seat from TRS party is intense. Along with sitting MP Pasunuri Dayakar, Aaruri Ramesh, who contested from Vardhannapet assembly constituency but lost, and Tatikonda Rajaiah, former MLA of Station Ghanpur, are the main contenders. If this is the case, Telangana activists Advocate Gudimalla Ravikumar and former corporator Jorika Ramesh, who played a key role as a student leader, are also openly calling for the Warangal MP ticket. Mainly, Aruri Ramesh, who lost in the previous assembly elections, is trying hard for the MP ticket. The leaders of the party say that they are making serious efforts for the MP ticket due to their experience as MLA of Vardhannapet for two times and being a local leader.
From Congress
Leaders of that party are contesting for the Warangal MP post from the Congress party which is in full swing after capturing the power in the state. Along with former MP Sirisilla Rajaiah, Dommati Sambaiah, Namindla Srinivas, who was upset after expecting the Vardhannapet assembly ticket, are competing for the MP ticket. But former MP Sirisilla Rajaiah is making serious efforts. The ticket is said to be mine at every possible place. As an activist who believed in the Congress party, as a former MP and as a leader who fought for Telangana, he does not deny that people have faith and admiration for him. Another leader in the ticket race is Dommati Sambaiah. He has been working together with Revanth Reddy and has been close to Revanth Reddy in the Congress as well. Sambaiah is also trying hard for the MP ticket. Another leader, Namindla Srinivas, got the Vardhannapet ticket in the previous assembly election and was unsuccessfully trying to get the MP ticket. There are whispers in the party that Revanth Reddy has also come together for the ticket. With the Congress party in power in the state and the Congress atmosphere continuing, the chances of victory are high and the aspirants are not losing their grip. It can be said that there is no chance of new faces coming by the time of Parliament elections.
There is also competition for Warangal MP seat from Bharatiya Janata Party which is in power in Central. In the last election, Chinta Sambamurthy was brought from the neighboring district as there was no party candidate for the post of Warangal MP. But this time the competition is high. A new name in BJP this time is Mandakrishna Madiga. There is a discussion in Kashaya Party that Mandakrishna Madiga, who is the founder president of MMRPS MSPS, is making serious efforts to contest from Warangal MP seat as a BJP candidate. Mandakrishna Madiga has recently become close to Prime Minister Modi and is also close to BJP state president Kishan Reddy. With this, whispers are being heard that Warangal MP ticket has been confirmed to Mandakrishna Madiga. Along with Mandakrishna Madiga, former MLA Kondeti Sridhar is also hoping for a ticket. Vardhannapet contested as a BJP candidate in the previous assembly elections and was defeated. Along with these two, the name of former IPS officer Krishna Prasad is also heard. The name of former IPS is heard more than the names of Manda Krishna Madiga and Kondeti Sridhar. The party leaders are saying that we have an IPS if we don’t have candidates. Will BJP give MP ticket to local leaders? Or we have to wait and see if they will get it from the neighboring district like in 2019 elections.
