Animal Movie Producer Pranay On Corporate Bookings: For the past few days, various opinions have been expressed on corporate bookings in the Indian film industry. This matter also came to the fore in the case of ‘Salar’ which was released recently and created a sensation at the box office. Criticism that the movie ‘Salar’ has received corporate bookings of more than Rs.50 crores has become the cause of intense debate. Moreover, it has become a topic of discussion to say that if corporate bookings are made, the ‘animal’ collections will exceed Rs.1000 crores. Is corporate bookings of Rs.100 crore possible? The question arises.
So what is corporate bookings?
After the release of the movies of star heroes, if the collections do not reach the expected level, the hero who acted in that movie or the employees of the respective production company book tickets online and provide an opportunity to watch the movie. They announce that more tickets are being sold for their movie. People who have seen the movie with free ticket give positive reviews about the movie on social media platform. That means they do corporate bookings and promote their film themselves. In other words, this is a fake collection scam.
Producer Pranai’s comments as a topic of discussion
Recently ‘Animal’ director Pranay made key comments about corporate bookings. The film has so far collected around Rs. 900 crore collections. Many thought that this movie will enter the Rs.1000 crore club. But, this movie is yet to reach that mark. The producer responded on the same issue. “‘Animal’ movie till now has collected Rs. 900 crores. However, everyone thought it would make 1000 crores. But, those expectations did not come true. If we had done corporate bookings, this movie would have already crossed Rs.1000 crores. Let’s talk about the collection of our film honestly. We thought that there would be no unnecessary shouting. But corporate bookings are not needed when the stars have real craze,” he commented.
Criticism of corporate bookings in the case of ‘Salar’
Recently there have been allegations of corporate bookings in the case of ‘Salar’. ‘Salar’ early morning shows on Book My Show got heavy criticism after showing house pull. In national multiplex chains like PVR Inox, 6 and 7 am bookings are all full. Movie fans expressed their anger that ‘Salar’ team is doing corporate bookings. Allegations of doing the same for the movie ‘Dunky’ are also doing the rounds on social media. Some videos are circulating that the hall is shown as full in Book My Show, but if you go to the same screen with an offline ticket, all the chairs in the hall are empty.
