Nandyala, December 26: Thieves raided temples in the joint Kurnool district. Stealing of hundis and ornaments of gods in temples has increased in the last few days. Recently, this situation occurred at the Anjaneya Swamy temple in Nandyala. Thieves are increasing day by day in Nandyas. They are challenging the police by doing a series of thefts. Late Monday night, there was a commotion at the Abhayanjaneya Swamy temple on the main road near Tekke. The priests went to the temple of Abhayanjaneyaswamy in Tekke after performing night puja as usual.
The thieves noticed the big hundi in the temple and broke the lock of the main gate of the temple. Thieves took away the hundi in the temple. The hundi was taken from the market yard near the temple. They took the cash from the hundi and left the hundi there. The temple priests who came in the morning noticed the theft of hundi in Alayam and informed the police. Noticing that the hundi was missing, the police and temple administrators searched for the hundi and found the hundi in a desolate place in the market yard. Around Rs. Managers said that 50,000 cash was stolen.
