Team India won the three-match ODI series against South Africa by 2-1. India beat South Africa by 78 runs in the final third ODI on Thursday (December 21). With this, Team India won the three-match series by 2-1. Team India led by captain KL Rahul has created history by winning this series. KL Rahul became the second captain for India to win the ODI series in South Africa. Virat Kohli had achieved this feat before him. In 2018, the Virat Kohli-led team defeated South Africa 5-1 in the ODI series at home. After that 5 years now in 2023 Team India has created a record by winning the series. Prior to this series, India lost 0-3 to South Africa in the 2022 ODI series. Even then KL Rahul was the captain. But Team India could not win a single match. But this year, Team India led by Rahul defeated South Africa on their own soil.
KL Rahul did not impress much in terms of batting in the ODI series against South Africa. But as a wicket keeper, he is doing well. In the third ODI of the recent series decider, Rahul took three excellent catches. With this, Rahul got the Impact Fielder Award. But Rahul showed his great mind here. Rahul gave his medal to the new player Sai Sudarshan who took an excellent catch in the same match. With this, fellow cricketers and staff applauded Rahul in the dressing room. Avesh Khan bowled and received the ball given by the South African dashing player Heinrich Klaasen by diving into the gully. This turned the match.
