ISRO was established in 1969 by the Government of India, which initiated space experiments. There are more failures than successes in the initial experiments. Countries that have already been successful in space experiments have mocked India’s experiments. But now the situation has completely changed. ISRO has shown its ability in the most complex and important experiments that make the world’s countries turn their noses up. Landing on the southern surface of the moon has not been possible till now. ISRO has achieved grand success in such a place. But all this was not possible at once. Step by step overcoming each error and moving towards success. Out of that, 2023 has been a good year for ISRO. ISRO has recently increased the number of launches. In the early days of ISRO, only one or two experiments were conducted a year. ISRO has been carrying out experiments with a sense that success is more important than the number of experiments. For the last five years, the calendar has been prepared so that not less than 12 experiments per year are going towards the goal. But the two years due to Covid completely hampered ISRO’s goals. In 2020 and 2021, it had a severe impact on experiments. Only two experiments were conducted in 2020. Even in 2021, even though the target is high, ISRO has managed to carry out two experiments on the most difficult. And in 2022, five experiments were carried out and satellites related to foreign countries were sent into orbit.
In 2023, along with the number of experiments, ISRO has also set records in its account. ISRO’s Chandrayaan 2, which discovered a water web on the Moon with Chandrayaan 1, was a partial success and failed to meet its target. 2023 filled that shortfall. ISRO’s successful landing on the surface of the moon and also on the south pole made all the countries of the world look at India with interest. So far, countries like Russia, Japan and America have conducted experiments on the moon but have not been able to land on the South Pole. Landing at such a place is a success for ISRO in informing the world about the features of that place. ISRO has designed a new Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) to send small satellites into orbit at a low cost. It was launched in 2022 itself and did not get as much success as expected. 2023 February corrected the errors and succeeded. And within months of Chandrayaan 3, the Aditya L1 launch was launched for the Sun experiment. Currently, Aditya’s journey towards the designated destination continues. In this way, ISRO has undertaken a total of 8 experiments in 2023. It must be said that 2023 is crucial in ISRO’s journey of six decades.
