The Central Election Commission is starting preparations for the general elections in Andhra Pradesh. Elections are to be held in March or April next year. Arrangements will be started for this. In 2019, elections were held for AP Assembly as well as Lok Sabha. The election process has to be completed by June 10 next year. As part of this, representatives of the Central Election Commission will come to the state to discuss issues like election arrangements, voter lists, polling stations and personnel. There has already been a lot of confusion over irregularities in the voter list, fake votes and double entry votes. Along with the ruling YSR Congress, the opposition Telugu Desam Party has also lodged complaints with the state Chief Electoral Officer Meena. YCP, TDP and BJP also complained to the Central Election Commission in Delhi. The main parties are alleging that they are deleting the votes of their party sympathizers. Complaints are pouring in that they are doing massive deletion of votes through Form-7. On the one hand, the officials are examining the objections already received on the voter list. After that, the Election Commission will release the final SSR on January 5. While this process is going on, the election rush will begin as a team of CEC officials is coming to the state. Along with Assembly, Lok Sabha elections will also be held in AP. With this, EC is preparing to make proper arrangements.
Key meetings with officials on December 22 and 23
A delegation of the Central Election Commission will come to the state to review the election arrangements in the state. It will reach Vijayawada on 21st of this month in the evening. On the 23rd of this month, there will be a meeting with the Collectors, SPs and other key officials of 26 districts. Information will be taken from the officials on the lists of voters in the respective districts, all other necessary arrangements related to the elections, sensitive areas, etc. If the reviews related to all the districts are not completed on the first day, there will be a meeting with the Collectors and SPs of the remaining districts on the 23rd of this month as well. After the meeting with the district officials, on the afternoon of 23rd of this month, a meeting will be held with the officials of the departments related to the elections. During the two-day visit, the officials will be given direction on the arrangements to be made regarding the conduct of the elections.. In this meeting, there is a possibility of making many suggestions to the officials on the voter list… As the representatives of the Central Election Commission are coming to the state, the state election officials are also preparing all the details.
