Negotiations with Anganwadis once again failed. The government is making efforts to pacify the staff who have been on strike for five days. On the one hand, while opening centers with volunteers, discussions are being held with Anganwadi staff. The third round of talks held on Friday also did not yield any results.
Anganwadi staff are not giving up. The government is not coming down. The government held talks with the Anganwadi unions that the strike is continuing. The ministerial sub-committee says that they will consider many of the points proposed by them. But in terms of salaries, there is no guarantee. Anganwadi staff are not willing to call off the strike due to this.
Ministers Bugganarajendranath, Ushasree Charan, Botsa Satyanarayana, Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, CS Jawahar Reddy, Women Child Welfare Secretary Jayalakshmi participated in these discussions. He said OK to increase the maximum age limit of Anganwadi staff to 62 years. It has been agreed to increase the end-of-service benefits to one lakh rupees. He expressed his willingness to give 40 thousand to the helpers. The maximum age limit for promotions is set to be increased to 50 years. The state government agreed to give TA and DA. He promised to write a letter to the center on the issue of gratuity.
The ministerial sub-committee which has said so much… is backing down on the wage hike. Anganwadi staff insisted on increasing their salaries as per the Supreme Court’s instructions along with Jagan’s promise in the Padayatra. They demanded Rs 20,000 for Anganwadi workers and 26,000 helpers. The subcommittee did not agree to increase the salaries. She said that there is no situation to increase the salaries at present.
The Anganwadi unions have decided to continue the strike as the government has not backed down on the issue of salaries. He said that the government is very stubborn and that is why the government will open its eyes with the strike itself. He warned that if the movement is tried to be suppressed by threats, the consequences will be severe. They announced that they are ready to call off the strike if the issue of salary hike and gratuity is considered following the Supreme Guidelines.
Minister Botsa said that they hope that the Anganwadis will go to work. They are also an integral part of the government. That is why they are giving what they did not ask for. Botsa said that the government did not intend to open the centers by breaking the locks. He said that there is no need to pay much attention to the fact that it happened only in one place.
