Devotees flock to Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in the month of Kartika, the festival of Telangana people. This area with temples of Shiva and Keshava is crowded with Satyanarayana Swamy mass vratas, Deepotsavam and Tulsi worship during the month of Kartika. Kartikam, which started on 14th of last month, ended on Tuesday. 18,824 couples took part in the mass vratas which were held six times daily from the first day of the month of Kartika. Rs.1,64,20,600 was collected with these pujas. On normal days 10 to 20 thousand people visit the temple for darshan of Swami. 60 to 70 thousand devotees visited Swami on holidays.
Due to the increase in the number of devotees visiting the Lord in the month of Kartika, the temple treasury has accumulated a large amount of daily income. Evo Geetha Reddy said that 37,698 devotees offered talanilas in the month of Kartika, Rs.3,50,79,660 were collected from the sale of prasads, Rs.1,69,19,100 from break and quick darshans, and Rs.1,13,50,000 from vehicle parking fee on the hill. Officials said that the temple treasury collected Rs.14.91 crores in the month of Kartika, an increase of Rs.24.66 lakhs compared to last year.
