The case of IAS officer Smita Sabharwal is becoming controversial in Telangana. She worked as the secretary of the CMO in the previous government. There are criticisms that she did not even meet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy politely. There are also reports that she has applied to go on deputation to central services. Retired IAS officer Akunuri Murali’s reaction about her became a topic of discussion.
Retired IAS officer Akunuri Murali has asked the Telangana government not to send IAS officer Smita Sabharwal into the central services. He criticized that it has become fashionable for some IASs to do everything they did in the previous government and join the central government services when the new government came and avoid the mistakes here. He asked Telangana government to take steps not to send them to the Centre. He criticized that if he did not commit any mistakes, why should he shrug his shoulders. Akunuri Murali accused Smita Sabharwal saying that she is the only IAS officer in the country who goes in a helicopter and supervises the work.
“It has become fashionable for some IAS officers to do everything done in the previous government and go to the central government (using the caste connections network there) to avoid the mistakes made here when the new government came. Telangana government should take steps not to send them to the center. If she has not done anything wrong then why shrug her shoulders.. She is the only IAS officer in the entire country who goes in a helicopter and inspects the works” tweeted Akunuri Murali. Akunuri Murali tweeted tagging CM Revanth Reddy.
Smita Sabharwal played a key role in the KCR government. She was the Chief Secretary of Telangana Irrigation Department at that time and supervised the Kaleswaram works as well as Mission Bhagiratha works. Worked as secretary to CMO. But, after Revanth Reddy became the CM, he has not even met him politely till now. With this, it is being spread that Smita Sabharwal is planning to join the central services. It is known that she tweeted remembering that she served 23 years in Telugu states. Smita Sabharwal tweeted that she is always ready for new challenges.
Smita Sabharwal, who joined duty as a trainee collector in 2001, worked as the district collector of Medak. He got recognition by doing many good works for the people. He got special recognition from the government in terms of work style. Thus he was appointed as Additional Secretary in Telangana Chief Minister’s Office.
