CPI leader Ramakrishna: CPI state secretary Ramakrishna has criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy for failing to support the Migjam cyclone-affected farmers in the state. Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, who went to inspect the crops damaged in the fields due to the storm, complained that it was as if he had gone to watch a cricket match by putting on stages. He said that it is outrageous that only 103 mandals have been declared as drought mandals when there is severe drought in 460 mandals across the state. He criticized that this government will proceed in an autocratic manner towards the farmers.
CPI leader Ramakrishna asked how a person who cannot see the drought in the Chief Minister’s home district Kadapa will support the farmers across the state. The chief minister who went to meet the farmers said that the crops in the farmers’ fields were completely soaked due to the storm and at least he did not talk to the farmers. He said that Chief Minister Jagan did not pay attention to the water projects in the state. At least the maintenance of the projects was not allocated because the Annamaiya project was washed away by the floods. As a result, 39 people died. He said that the Polavaram project would not be completed as long as Jaganmohan Reddy was the Chief Minister… He had never seen such a Chief Minister in the past. They demanded that an all-party meeting should be organized to help the farmers who have suffered losses due to the cyclone. The loss of the cyclone victims should be declared as a national calamity. He made key comments that Jaganmohan Reddy will also suffer the same fate as KCR in the upcoming Telangana elections.
