Women in Telangana can travel in RTC buses for free from Ivalti. This Mahalakshmi scheme, which is one of the 6 guarantees, will be launched by CM Revanth Reddy this afternoon. As part of the Mahalakshmi scheme, which is one of the 6 guarantees given by the Congress in the elections, women in Telangana can travel in TSRTC buses for free from Ivalti. On Saturday (December 9) at half past one in the afternoon, CM Revanth Reddy will launch this scheme in the assembly premises. TSRTC MD Sajjanar said that women ministers, MLAs, MLCs, CS Shanthakumari, Transport Secretary Vani Prasad and World Women’s Boxing Champion Nikhat Zareen will participate in the programme. From today afternoon, women can travel in RTC buses for free across the state. For that Aadhaar or any identity card will have to be shown. Along with women, girls and transgenders have also been given the opportunity to travel for free. But Sajjanar said no identity card is required for a week. After that TSRTC is developing software for issuing Mahalakshmi smart card.
You can travel free from anywhere in Telangana by Palle Veluk, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses. If you travel beyond Telangana, you will be charged according to the tariff. The cost incurred for this will be reimbursed by the government to the RTC. Sajjanar said that currently TSRTC is getting an income of up to 14 crore rupees per day. He said that 50 percent income will decrease with free travel for women. He said that he has appealed for the government’s help in the matter of decreasing income.
