As the elections approach, the ruling YCP in AP will face shock after shock. Party MLAs are leaving YCP one after another. Recently Chintalapudi MLA Unnamatla Eliza joined Congress party. APCC chief Sharmila warmly invited him wearing the scarf of the Congress party. But currently Elijah Chintalapudi is the MLA.. Jagan gave ticket to Kumbham Vijayaraja instead of him. Eliza, who was disheartened by this, left the YCP and joined the Congress.

Similarly Varaprasad, MLA of Nellore district Guduru YCP also said goodbye to the party and joined BJP. He joined the party under Union Minister Anurag Thakur in Delhi. Varaprasad, a former IAS officer, contested as Tirupati MP candidate from Praja Rajyam in 2009. In 2014, he once again contested from Tirupati and won. After that, he won as YCP MLA from Guduru in 2019 elections. The BJP leadership is thinking of fielding Varaprasad, who joined the party, in the Badwel ring.

On 19th of this month, MLA Arthur of Nandyala district’s Nandikotkur constituency also joined the Congress party. Arthur veiled himself in the presence of AP Congress President YS Sharmila. The YCP leadership has allotted Nandikotkur YCP ticket to Dr. Dara Sudhir and not Arthur in the upcoming elections. Arthur had to lose the ticket due to differences with Sap Chairman Baireddy Siddhartha Reddy. With this, it seems likely that Arthur will contest from the Nandikotkur seat on behalf of the Congress party. But this time some YCP MLAs who are looking to stand in the election ring are joining the Congress party.
CM Jagan changed the sitting MLAs in the respective areas due to various equations. As a result, the leaders who did not get tickets are saying goodbye to YCP and joining other parties. Some MLAs have already joined TDP and BJP.
