So far, Dwakra women who have been doing small businesses individually or as a group and are developing economically, now thousands of them have come together on a single platform and started huge projects.
All the members of the two mandal federations decided to establish a women’s mart. About thirty thousand women became members each at just Rs. Only 310 were invested under share capital. As it is a company directly run by women, those companies have also entered into an agreement to provide these marts at a lower price than outside malls. Later marts were started by taking all necessary government approvals for running the mart. The mart that started like that got a good reception in a short time.
On the one hand, the products made by themselves are directly provided to the mart and corporate organizations provide their products at a low price, so they are also able to give them to the customers at a low price. With this, the talk spread that quality products are available at low prices in this women’s mart. In such a short time, this women’s mart gained special popularity and the sales also increased significantly. In each mart, the sales are going from ninety to one lakh rupees per day.
Also, as the products are available at a lower price in this mart than outside malls, customers are also interested in buying here. Because of these marts, about sixteen people have also got job and employment opportunities. All the members have appointed a twelve member Board of Directors for the management of this mart. Only Board of Directors meet to take any key decision related to Mart and take many key decisions required for business development. DRDA District Project Director Kalyan Chakraborty along with DPMs Ravikumar and Jayashree are constantly monitoring and providing suggestions and advice to the women, so that there are no problems or irregularities as thousands of Dwakra women are members and running marts. The authorities are taking all kinds of precautions to ensure that every woman member receives the profit of women’s marts.
