Telangana Elections 2024: Assembly and general elections to be held in AP.. Preparations are underway for the upcoming general elections in Telangana. A coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of Jawahar Reddy and Shanti Kumari.
In this meeting, the Chief Secretary of the Telangana State Government, Shanti Kumari said that coordination meetings have already been held with the District Collectors of the border states and senior officials of various departments to conduct the polling on May 13 properly. They said that they have laid. It is stated that the peace and security situation is also fully under control and the meeting of Chief Secretaries of the Government of both the states will help to ensure that this kind of environment continues till the completion of polling. He said that more vigilance is needed at the check-posts in the border areas to prevent illegal liquor, drugs and other goods from being smuggled into the state from Goa, Karnataka and other states. The Telangana government already has 36 inter-state check-posts through the Police Department, three inter-state check-posts for the Wildlife Department, Excise. It was explained that eight, 224 enforcement teams and 7 check-posts have been set up by the department through commercial taxes and 24-hour strong patrolling. CS Shanti Kumari stated that there is no prevalence of terrorism in Telangana and there is no Maoist activity from Chhattisgarh. .
On this occasion, the Chief Secretary of the State Government, Dr. KS. Jawahar Reddy said that since the elections to the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha seats of Andhra Pradesh will be held simultaneously on May 13, they are working with Telangana in full coordination to conduct the elections in a free and peaceful manner. He said that more than 129 integrated check posts have been set up by various departments on the borders of different states with Andhra Pradesh. Strong surveillance measures have been taken through these integrated check posts to control the illegal transport of liquor, distribution of money and various goods to entice voters. The enforcement teams of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states are doing well. CS Jawahar Reddy clarified that they are working in coordination.
Telangana State DGP Ravi Gupta, Additional DGs Shivdhar Reddy, Mahesh Bhagwat, AP Additional DG Dr. Shankabrata Bagchi, Special Principal Secretary of Commercial Taxes and Excise Department Dr. Rajat Bhargava, Telangana PCCF RM Dobriel, AP PCCF Chiranjeevi Chaudhary and others were present in this meeting.
