CBI officers interrogated MLC Kavitha for two days in the liquor scam. The investigation continued at the CBI headquarters in Delhi. Kavita’s trial was held till 6 pm. BRS Working President KTR met Kavitha who was in CBI custody for three days. Along with KTR, Kavitha’s husband Anil and MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy also came to the CBI office. KTR gave Kavita courage.
CBI has named Kavitha as the key mastermind and role player in the liquor policy irregularities. The CBI is questioning Kavitha on the formulation of liquor policy, hundred crore donations to Aam Aadmi Party, provision of money from South Group, statements given by the accused and those who have turned into approvers, WhatsApp chat. CBI is questioning Kavitha verbally and in writing under CCTV surveillance. Kavita’s CBI custody will end on Monday. She will be produced at Rouse Avenue Court at 10 am. CBI lawyers are likely to seek extension of Kavita’s custody.
It is possible to seek custody for another three days. However, the arguments of the CBI are likely to be opposed by Kavita’s lawyers. Kavita’s senior lawyer Vikram Chaudhary said that legal process was violated in the case of Kavita’s arrest. He said that the rules were not followed in Kavitha’s arrest. The Supreme Court had earlier said that non-cooperation in the investigation should not be a reason for arrest. Alleged misuse of Section 41.
