The Chennai Super Kings bowlers were on fire on their own soil. On Monday (April 08) Kolkata batters were tied in the match being held at Chepauk Stadium. Chennai captain Ruthuraj Gaikwad, who won the toss in this match, chose to bowl first. Accordingly, the CSK bowlers attacked the Kolkata batters right from the start. The pacers as well as the spinners also bowled hard and the Kolkata batters struggled to score runs. In the end, they made only 137 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. While the team was in trouble, a huge innings was expected from Rinku Singh. But Rinku was dismissed for 9 runs. Venkatesh Iyer and Anukul Roy both scored 3 runs each and reached the pavilion. Both Philippe Salt and Mitchell Starc could not even open an account. . Vaibhav Aror returns not out with 1 run. Ravindra Jadeja and Tushar Deshpande took 3 wickets each for Chennai. Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets and received the purple cap again. Mahish Tikshan took 1 wicket.
