Disaster Management MD Ronanki Kurmanath said that there is a possibility of severe hailstorm in Chintoor and Koonavaram mandals of Alluri Seetharamaraju district and hailstorm in 93 mandals and there is a possibility of severe hailstorm in Chintoor mandal of Ellundi Seetharamaraju district and hailstorm in 27 mandals. In addition to these, officials said that there is a possibility of hailstorm in 93 mandals across the state. Out of these, 6 in Srikakulam, 20 in Vizianagaram, 8 in Parvathipuramanyam, 8 in Allurisitaramaraju, 11 in Anakapalli, 6 in Kakinada, 4 in Konaseema, 4 in Eluru, 2 in NTR, 7 in Guntur, 2 in Palnadu and 15 in East Godavari are likely to receive hailstorm.
Meanwhile, high temperatures were recorded in many places across the state on Sunday. 45.8°C in Chagalamarri of Nandyala district, Kathiri of Nellore district, 45.6°C in Khajipet and Simhadripuram of YSR district, 45.5°C in Janakavaram Pangulur of Bapatla district, 45.4°C in Aluru of Kurnool district, 45.4°C in Botlagudur of Prakasam district and 45.2°C in Vijayapuri of Palnadu district. . Also, the officials stated that severe hailstorms occurred in 107 mandals and hailstorms in 235 mandals.
Officials have advised people to stay at home as much as possible, especially the elderly, pregnant women, and infants should take appropriate precautions and be vigilant in view of the possibility of severe hailstorm. MD Kurmanath of Disaster Management suggested taking ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution), homemade drinks like lassi, lemon water, buttermilk and coconut water to avoid dehydration.
