As the Lok Sabha elections are approaching, the party joining the ruling party Congress has gained momentum. Key leaders have already joined the party, but recently another key leader joined the Congress. Kuthbullapur constituency BJP leader Kuna Srisailam Goud joined the Congress party on Friday in the presence of AICC Telangana in-charge Deepadas Munsi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Former MLA and Medchal District Congress Committee President Srisailam Goud has joined BJP. In the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, he contested as a BJP candidate from Kutbullapur constituency and lost to TRS candidate KP Vivekanand.
It is known that a video of Vivekanand attacking Goud during a TV debate as part of the election campaign has become popular online. Senior Congress leaders Patnam Mahender Reddy and Mynampalli Hanmantha Rao Goud went to his house and invited him to join the Congress party on behalf of Revanth Reddy. Koona stated in his resignation letter to state BJP president Kishan Reddy that he is joining the Congress with the feeling of being more accessible to the people and participating in the progress of the state of Telangana. Polling will be held in Telangana on May 13 as part of the fourth phase Lok Sabha election schedule released by the Central Election Commission (ECI).
