Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer has had a disappointing start to the 17th season of IPL. Shreyas Iyer was caught out with an irresponsible shot when the team was in trouble against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Thangarsu Natarajan dismissed Shreyas and put Kolkata in more trouble in the fourth over of the match. Before that, Natarajan dismissed Venkatesh Iyer for 7 runs. Shreyas Iyer missed the 16th season due to a back injury. But Shreyas overcame the injury and returned for the 17th season. The team management also kept Shreyas as the captain with confidence. A brilliant innings was expected from Shreyas after about a year. But Shreyas disappointed the cricket fans. Shreyas was out for zero. That put KKR in trouble. Before that, Hyderabad won the toss and ordered KKR to bat. The opening pair of Philip Salt and Sunil Narine entered the field. Phillip attacked the SRH bowlers right from the start. In the second over, Philip hit 3 consecutive sixes off the bowling of Marco Jansen. But on the very next ball, Sunil Narine was run out irresponsibly at the non-strike end. Narine managed only 2 runs.
At the end of 15 overs, Kolkata Knight Riders’ score is 129 for the loss of 6 wickets. Rinku Singh (10 off 7 balls) and Andre Russell (14 off 9 balls) are at the crease. Among Hyderabad bowlers, Natarajan took 2 wickets.
