Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has decided to start the Indiramma house scheme on 11th of this month. The officials were ordered to make necessary arrangements for that. He said that this scheme should be undertaken ambitiously as part of the implementation of six guarantees as promised by the government.
On Saturday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy along with Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy held a review meeting on guidelines related to the Indiramma Houses Scheme at the Secretariat. The Chief Minister directed the officials to apply this scheme to all the poor and eligible people who have no house in the state. He said that procedures should be made accordingly. He said that priority should be given to all the eligible people registered in public administration. The officials were alerted to avoid the mistakes made by the previous government in the construction of double houses and to ensure that the original deserving people are benefited. First, a tentative decision was taken to grant 3500 houses to each constituency. The CM expressed his hope that the dream of owning a house for the poor who are homeless will be fulfilled step by step.
In the Indiramma house scheme, those who have a plot of land will be given Rs.5 lakh for the construction of a new house on the same plot. Homeless poor will be given Rs.5 lakh along with a house. The chief minister instructed the officials to prepare the rules in which stages these funds should be released. He said that strict guidelines should be made to prevent misuse of the funds to be received by the beneficiaries.
The CM suggested that different types of house models and designs should be made to be useful for those who build houses in their own space. Beneficiaries should ensure that their own house is built according to their needs but must have a kitchen and toilet. The CM suggested that the responsibilities of monitoring house constructions should be handed over to engineering departments in various departments. He said that these responsibilities should be given to the engineering departments under the district collectors.
