Medaram Jatara 2024 Concluded on Grand Note: Mulugu: Asia’s largest tribal fair Medaram Jatara concluded on Saturday night. Medaram Mahajatara, which lasted for four days from February 21, came to an end (on February 24). Sammakka-Saralamma left the people and returned to the forest. With this the Medaram Maha Jatara (Sammakka Sarakka Jatara) which was a festival of eyes has officially come to an end. But when Amma moved to the forest, an interesting development took place. For the past few days the weather was hot with the sun shining brightly. But today Sammakka and Saralamma will enter the forest.. It rained in Medaram area.
The tribal fair Medaram Jarata, which started on Wednesday, ended on Saturday night. Along with Pagiddaraju and Govindaraja, Sammakka and Saralamma were taken down from their thrones by the tribal priests who took them in a procession to the temples. After switching off the lights, the final pooja was performed for Ammavar at Gaddela in the moonlight. Today being the last day, devotees flocked to Medara in large numbers to watch the fair and see the Maha Ghattam. Apart from AP and Telangana, devotees who came from Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Karnataka also took a dip in Jampanna river. After that, gold is offered to the Ammavars and prayers are offered.

Thank you to the State Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, Ministers and the State Government for giving the most funds for the organization of the Medaram Fair. Special thanks to Devadaya Minister Konda Surekha, Minister of Transport. District Collector, SP and officials of other 20 departments worked hard for the fair arrangements. Special thanks to the media for breaking the news to the outside world. Medaram roads and buildings were submerged due to floods. We repaired them in a short time and made arrangements for the devotees without any trouble. The biggest fair not only in Asia but also in the world. The preliminary estimate is that 35 to 45 lakh devotees have come till noon. The transport department operated 6000 buses. 12 thousand trips till yesterday evening. Minister Seethakka said that the presence of so many people in an area of 10 to 12 km is a source of pride as a child of this region.
He said that despite the intensity of the sun, the crowd has not reduced. He said that the system will work till all the devotees who come to Medaram have the darshan of their mothers. Minister Sitakka said that 5090 children went missing in the Medaram fair, 5062 children have already been handed over to their families. The rest of the children are safe.. Their family members are advised to come near the missing point even if they are near Jampanna river. He said that if there are shortcomings in the management of the Medaram fair, we will accept it and correct it for the coming fair.
