Netflix has launched a documentary series on Indrani Mukherjee, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. But the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) approached the Mumbai court to stop the series from streaming. An application was also filed in the Special Court in Mumbai recently. The series is gearing up for streaming on February 23. Netflix has also released the trailer of ‘The Indrani Mukherjee Story: The Buried Truth’. At the same time, legal troubles started for this series. Sheena Bora murder happened in 2012. It came to light in 2015. The CBI has stated in the application that it is not correct for such documentaries to be shown to the audience while the case is still being investigated.

CBI Special Judge SP Naik asked Netflix Entertainment Services India and all those who were part of the documentary series to respond to the application. A hearing on this case will be held on February 20 in a Mumbai court. In April 2012, police investigation revealed that Indrani Mukherjee strangulated Sheena Bora in the car and was assisted by her driver Shyamwar Roy and ex-husband Sanjay Khanna. After that it was revealed that Sheena is Indrani’s own daughter. This case took many turns. So this has also become one of the many sensational crime cases in India.
Out on bail
In 2015, driver Shyamwar Roy was detained by the police for a different crime. At the same time he also revealed about Sheena Bora’s murder. Police arrested Indrani in August 2015 based on Shyamwar’s statement. In May 2022, Indrani was released from jail after getting bail. Currently Shyamwar Roy, Indrani Mukherjee, Peter Mukherjee, Sanjeev Khanna who are accused in the Sheena Bora murder case are out on bail. This case is not yet closed. The CBI is ready to hear a hearing in the court that it is not correct to make a documentary about a crime case that has not been closed and show it to the audience.
