The incident happened five years ago
In 2018, a young man named Srinivas attacked YS Jagan, who was then the leader of the opposition, with a chicken knife in the lobby of the Visakhapatnam airport. After the attack, the police took him into custody. Jagan got an injury on his hand at that time. So he went to Hyderabad and got medical treatment. The accused Srinivas was shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail.
Srinu was interrogated by the police. During the hearing, Srinivas said that his hope is to see Jagan as CM. At that time there were reports that the accused had said that Jagan would get sympathy after this attack. After that, the YCP won a huge victory in the elections. After that, the accused’s parents begged him to be released. His mother, Anna, also launched an indefinite protest to grant bail to the accused Srinivas. However, the government did not care. Dalit communities have also raised their voices against the government. Srinu has now been released on bail for a total of five years.
