Vankudot Ketha Naik, an elderly couple from Papakollu village of Julurupadu mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, came to Lines Eye Care Hospital in Bali Vira for an eye examination. After undergoing eye tests and taking medicines there, they reached Vaira bus stand to go back to Papakolli. They had lunch at a hotel opposite the bus stand and were going to the bus stand for the bus. But the thugs followed the elderly couple from the hotel and carried them away. When the couple entered the bus stand, the assailants asked them where they wanted to go. So the couple told the robbers in the Sumo vehicle that they should go to Julur. They picked up the old people in Sumo saying that they were going towards Kothagudem and they would take them free of charge. At that time there were five other people in the car along with the elderly couple.
As soon as the Vaira mandal stage passed Pinapaka village, the thugs in the car started the toy game. A thug in the car asked Vankudot Ketanaik to return 50 rupees immediately. With this, Keta Naik gave 50 rupees in return. The thug gave the cash to Keta Naik saying that he immediately played the game and got a hundred rupees for your 50 rupees. After that, if there is 10000, give it to Keta Naik, if he wins the game, he will get double. With hope, he gave Rs.5000 to the thug. But the thug told the old man that he had once again played the toy bag game and lost 5000 rupees in the game. Later, the thug convinced the couple that if the old woman puts a four-tula gold chain around Bali’s neck and plays the game, she will get a bet of one lakh rupees.
Bali took off the gold chain. After that the bystanders were convinced that the chain was also lost in the game. Immediately a person in the car took the money and a four-tula gold chain and got down in the outskirts of Tallada village. After the car passed Talada, the elderly couple got into a fight with the assailants.
