Prana pratishta program of Rama is being held in Ayodhya on 22 January 2024. On this occasion, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said in its directives that the authorities should not publish news that is not verified. It warned not to publish provocative news, religious hatred, fake news and not to broadcast it on satellite channels. The Cable Television Networks Regulation Act, under the Media Code, prohibits content that disturbs peace and order. During the Ayodhya celebration, the media houses have been advised to publish only accurate and verified information.
In the order, the Center has warned against publishing and broadcasting unverified news, unsubstantiated content and misleading content. Should act according to the constitution and should not publish material that incites hatred between caste and religion. If the news is telecasted in violation of the Centre’s directives, the relevant media will be held responsible and action will be taken, the directives said.
