Srikakulam YSRCP News: The list released by YSRCP on Thursday has many interesting items. As far as Srikakulam district is concerned, many of those who contested in the past were excluded and their seats were reversed. YCP sources say that these changes have been made with the plan to gain control in the district once again
With the list released by YCP at night, the tension of the candidates regarding the main constituencies has gone away. There are many unexpected developments in this list. Earlier, the name of State Kalinga Corporation Chairman Perada Tilak was announced as the Srikakulam MP candidate. In Ichhapuram, the leadership of the YCP has favored Piriya Vijaya. Exceptionally, MLC Duvvada Srisuku has finalized Tekkali Assembly seat.
The YCP leadership made many changes in the district after discussions and brainstorming. Three main tickets have been finalized. Parada Tilak’s name was chosen as the MP for the Tekkali Assembly seat despite being considered till the end. This decision was taken from the point of view of fielding a candidate belonging to the Kalinga community.
Duvvada Srinu, who worked as the in-charge of Konnalla Tekkali Constituency, will be stationed here again. In between his wife Duvvada Vanini was made in charge. It was advertised that she would get the ticket. But unexpectedly Srine came to the fore. Suspense over the Ichchapuram segment continued till Thursday night. The slogan of giving ticket to Reddika community gained momentum. The question arose as to what will be done with Piriya Sairaj’s couple who had been promised earlier. But Jagan confirmed the ticket to Piriya with the feeling that she will win there if she wins. The list announced in the third phase is sensational up to the district.
An unexpected promotion for Narayanamma
YCP has taken another decision for vote polarization of all social groups in the district. Zilla Parishad chairperson Piriya Vijaya is being given an assembly ticket and the post of ZP president has been allotted to Uppada Narayanamma as Ichhapuram ZPTC in her place. She is a leader of Reddika Samajika group. That satisfied them.
Parada, Duvvada.. change back and forth
In the 2019 general elections, Duvvada Srinivas contested as the Srikakulam MP, while Perada Tilak Tekkali contested as the MLA. This time their positions are reversed. While Tilak is contesting for MP, Srinu Tekkali will be contesting as MLA. The Chief Minister came to Tekkali constituency on April 19 last year to lay the foundation stone of Moolpet Port and asked Tekkali MLA candidate Duvvada Sreenani to give his blessings before the heat of the election.
Later due to family politics wife Duvvada Vani replaced Srinu. Even then the Chief Minister nowhere announced that the in-charge of Tekkali Constituency is Duvwada Vani. Vani himself held a press conference with his husband Srinu. By the time the tickets were finally finalised, it was a no-brainer to keep going.
Tilak, who has a strong hold in Nandigam mandal and some other mandals, was brought to the fore as an MP candidate as it was indicated that Tekkali would not be easy to win. In 2019, Tilak lost to TDP candidate Achchennaidu by a margin of 8,545 votes, while Duvwada Srinu lost to TDP MP Rammohan Naidu by a margin of 6,653 votes. Now YCP is of the opinion that if both of them come together, the Kalinga votes will be polarized across the district along with securing the Tekkali assembly seat.
When Duvvada Srinu contested as an MP in 2019, the MP got fewer votes than the winning MLA candidates in seven constituencies. Duvwada Srinu was defeated mainly due to the difference in Palasa, Ichhapuram and Srikakulam constituencies. Now Parada Tilak has strength in Palasa and Ichhapuram constituencies along with Samajwaja. There is coordination with all party candidates. In the 2013 Zilla Parishad elections in Palasa, he fielded his wife Perada Bhargavi in the contest and won in an unlikely place.
On the one hand, Tilak maintains the same level of relationship with Sitaram and Mantri Appalaraju as he does with Dharmana brothers. Above all, there is a talk in the party that especially Uttarandhra Vaikapa in-charge Botsa Satyanarayana and IPAC surveys are leaning towards Perada from the beginning. In this sense, the name of the MP was finalized with the feeling that he could not get the votes of the Kalinga community by ignoring him. A few more candidates who were announced in the third phase list also got transferred and new ones joined. This is the strategy that YCP has been following for this election since the beginning.
