TS DEECET Phase 2 Counselling: The second phase counseling schedule of DEE SET-2023 has been released in Telangana. Convenor Srinivasachari said in a statement on January 11 that as per the announced schedule, the counseling for the second batch of DEE set admissions will be conducted from January 17. Certificate verification will be conducted for the candidates on January 17. Later, from January 18 to 22, they provided an opportunity to register for web options. Candidates who have registered their options will be allotted seats on January 25. Candidates who have secured seats will have to report to the respective college between January 26 to 29. A total of 1152 candidates got admission in the colleges through the first round of counselling. Those who get seats will be given admission in DPSE and DED courses for the academic year 2023-25.
For admissions in DED and DPSE courses, the officials of the education department conducted the diet set entrance exam on June 1. The results were released on June 14. A total of 77.18% candidates have qualified in the DEESET exam. A total of 5,150 candidates appeared for this exam and 3,975 qualified. Of these, 2,043 candidates appeared in Telugu medium, 1,551 (75.91%), 2,114 (84.72%) out of 2,495 in English medium, 310 (50.65%) out of 612 in Urdu medium. Out of 837 boys who appeared for the exam, 712 qualified and 4,313 for girls and 3,263 qualified.
It is known that there has been a serious delay in the counseling of ‘DEESET-2023’ conducted for admission to D.Ed course with inter qualification in Telangana. The students were worried about this. Candidates who have passed the examination and who want to join under the management quota have been calling the convenor’s office, but there has been no response from the officials. The staff also asked SCERT officials to send the list of colleges. It seems that the reason for this entire delay is the negligence of the school education department officials. 20 colleges did not take admissions as counseling was conducted after months of delay. Students could not decide whether to join degree or other courses.. wait for admissions in D.Ed. But six months after the DEESET results, the authorities released the counseling schedule. As per the announced schedule, the first phase of counseling process started from December 20. The first round of counseling continued till January 5. 1152 candidates got admissions through the first round of counselling. Officials have recently released the second round of counseling schedule for the remaining seats.
While 1,400 seats are available in 10 government diet colleges in the state, 3,350 seats are available in 62 private colleges. Compared to the past, the number of colleges offering DED course has reduced drastically. While there were 212 colleges in 2016-17, the number decreased to 109. There is criticism that the education department has been neglecting the diet colleges along with the DD course for the past few years. In some places, college sites are given to the management of Rythu Bazars. There have been no faculty appointments for some time.
