Guntur Kaaram Movie Review in Telugu: Director Trivikram has made two films with superstar Mahesh Babu. Apart from the box office results of ‘Atadu’ and ‘Khaleja’… ‘Atadu’ seemed to be classics. Mahesh’s comedy timing in ‘Khaleja’ is super. After twelve years, Superstar Mahesh is making a film under the direction of Trivikram, so expectations have been raised on ‘Guntur Karam’. ‘Kurchi madata petti…’ song brought much needed publicity to the movie. Mahesh Babu’s mass avatar and energy in dances made people queue up at the theatres. So, let’s see how the movie fares.
Story: Janadalam Party chief Vaira Venkata Suryanarayana’s (Prakash Raj) daughter Vasundhara (Ramyakrishna) will be elected MLA for the third time. Kata Madhu (Ravi Shankar), an elected MLA from that party, wants to give him a ministerial post. But… the party leader says that he will make his daughter a minister. Kata Madhu tries to threaten Vasundhara by divorcing her husband and remarrying for the second time, leaving the child from her first husband. The grandfather then calls Ramana (Mahesh Babu) and asks him to sign the bond papers stating that he has no relation with the mother.
Ramana Guntur curry. He is not afraid of anyone. While father Royal Satyam (Jayaram) is soft… son is pukka mas. Ramana, who had come to Hyderabad with great hope after receiving a call from his mother after many years, refuses to sign the bond papers. Why did Vasundhara divorce the real royal Satya? Why didn’t Patikela see his son at least? What finally happened? What about Ramana’s story with Ammu (Sri Leela) in the middle? What is the role of Maradalu Raji (Meenakshi Chaudhary)? You have to watch the movie to know.
Analysis: After watching the promotional films of ‘Guntur Karam’ and the song ‘Kurchi Madatha Petti’, the audience became more interested in what movie Trivikram, who created such a massy character than Mahesh Babu’s mass avatar, had made. It won’t take long for the people sitting in the theaters to lose that interest. Apart from Mahesh Mas, no new story, story or scenes will be seen on the screen.
Relationships and emotions are the main characters in Trivikram’s movies. Only a word magician has the knack of transforming the most ordinary scene into something magical with his trademark dialogues. However… the audience feels that Trivikram’s mark is not visible at every step in ‘Guntur Karam’.
Young writers are imitating Trivikram’s style of writing and dialogues and are scrambling for rhyme. It was a shock to get the song ‘Kurchi Madatha Petti…’ from such a Trivikram. Poni, if it’s a Mass… At the end of the song, the dialogue by ‘Vennela’ Kishore says ‘We have given you a cult toy’. Mahesh and Sri Leela danced the steps to the Nakkilisu chain song. If Trivikram writes a word, a song should go viral. But what about the presence of viral content in digital media in Trivikram movies? Those are the times when fans feel that.
Apart from the fact that there is no novelty in the story of ‘Guntur Karam’… In that story, shades of Attarintiki Daredi, Ala Vaikunthapuramlu movies were seen. Due to the lack of strength in the story, even Trivikram’s pen did not move much. His style was not seen in conversations.
Mahesh Babu danced well in the songs ‘Kurchi Madatha Petti…’ and ‘Nakkilisu Chain’. The audience expected more good songs from Taman. Even re-recording! Perhaps… the story has less content and it seems to have influenced the music. Fights are ok. What can I say… Manoj Paramahamsa’s cinematography is super. The production values of Harika and Hasini Creations are as high as ever. No expense spared.

As Trivikram said at the pre-release event of ‘Guntur Karam’… Mahesh did 200 percent justice to the role of Ramana. Not only dancing in the songs… New Mahesh Babu was also shown in the dialogue delivery. He looked super stylish even in such a massy character. Shree Leela danced. Langa looked more beautiful in onis and sarees. Meenakshi Choudhary’s character range is less. Well done while it was.

The roles of mother and aunt are special in Trivikram movies. Ramyakrishna’s acting brought a sense of sophistication to Vasundhara’s character. Even though the first one was simple… her performance made the press meet and the climax scenes stand out. Prakash Raj’s getup & acting will register. He did well. Jayaram, Rao Ramesh, Eswari Rao, Murali Sharma and Raghubabu have adapted to their respective roles. Jagapathi Babu was not used properly. Sunil is limited to one scene. Vennela Kishore’s timing is laughable in some scenes. Even if Ajay is seen as Babji in two or three scenes… he will get hearty laughs. Trivikram’s Mark Humour is seen in Ajay’s character. Ajay Ghosh scenes too!
There is no drama in ‘Guntur Karam’… except for the intensity of the hero’s performance! Mahesh Babu’s energy, that mass characterization is super! It was shown in spicy dances in Mirchi. However, Trivikram missed the mark. No emotion was worked out in a single scene. Comedy is not as expected. There are no high moments. This is a film that will disappoint even the Mahesh Babu fans.
