A tiger attacked cattle on December 27 in Darigam forest area of Kagajnagar mandal of Komurambhim district. S16 tigress came to eat cattle meat. A week later it died under suspicious circumstances. After that S9 male tiger died in the same place. After the death of two big tigers, there was an uproar in the forest. However, the forest department officials told stories and covered up that both of them died in a territorial fight.

The officials of the National Tiger Conservation Authority, who got suspicious, conducted a more in-depth investigation. A cattle carcass was found not far from the place where the tigers were killed. Finally, the mystery of the death of the tigers is over. The investigation revealed that they died due to poisoning.
Suspicions are being expressed that because of the death of the cattle, the tigers were poisoned. The district forest department has not clarified on these allegations. Kaleswaram Zone CCF Santaram, Komurambhim District DFO Neeraj and Special Team officials conducted the investigation at the spot. PCCF Rakesh Mohan Dobriyal said that they first received information that a tiger had died in a territorial fight. But officials say that the S-9 big tiger did not die even due to the trap and it is suspected that the poison experiment took place after it got stuck in the trap. It is said to be five years old. Officials have made it clear that the thugs killed the two tigers with poison.
The carcasses of the big tigers were post-mortemed as per NCTA norms. Their body parts were sent for forensic tests. PCCF officials say that the tiger has been found to have died after eating cattle. He said that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the death of tigers. He said that how the poison experiment was done will be revealed in the forensic report.
Two of the four tigers roaming in Kagaj Nagar Division have died. Two more missed. Doubts are being raised whether the missing tigers are safe or not after the poison experiment incident. However, the local forest department officials kept the incident of poison experiment a secret. With this, they say that nothing is wrong with them. With the death of two tigers, high alert has been declared in the Kagaznagar corridor.
