Sonia Contesting From Khammam : The Telangana Congress Party has passed a resolution inviting Congress President Sonia Gandhi to contest from Telangana. The decision was sent to the party high command. But if there are no such instructions from above, there is no need to take a resolution here, then there are signs that the Congress high command is planning something. Congress sources say that now Sonia Gandhi has given green signal to contest from Khammam.

When the Telangana Congress Party decided to contest from Sonia Khammam, most people thought that she would contest from Medak. Later they said they can do it from Malkajigiri. But the Congress plan was different and the actual contesting seat was chosen in a way that no one expected, Khammam Constituency. Congress party president Sonia Gandhi seems to be working hard on the issue of contesting from Khammam constituency. If Sonia Gandhi gives green signal, many people think that they will contest from Medak. Because in the past Indira Gandhi contested from Medak and won. But with the BRS winning more assembly seats in Medak and chances of the party getting a huge majority in Siddipet, the analysis of Malkajigiri sap seat has started. Revanth Reddy won as MP from there. Also Malkajigiri constituency popularly known as Mini India will have voters from all states. But Congress strategists have a different idea.
Unreversible majorities for Congress in Khammam
It seems that consideration is being given to contesting from the Khammam parliamentary constituency, which is located in the middle of AP and Telangana. Khammam is like a stronghold of the Congress party. In the recent elections, Congress candidates won with huge majorities in all the assembly constituencies under Khammam. At least three lakh majority came in total. BRS was completely weakened after all the top leaders left the party. It is expected that the effect will be on AP as well as Telangana as Sonia contested.
Special focus of Congress on South
The Congress party has taken the upcoming Lok Sabha elections very seriously. It wants to win maximum number of seats from the south. With the party winning in Karnataka and Telangana, it is expected to achieve huge success in the Lok Sabha elections as well. They are thinking that they can sweep Telangana if Sonia Gandhi contests in Khamma along with Revanth Reddy’s leadership. At the same time, a new operation was started in AP. YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s daughter Sharmila will be given the charge of AP. Important changes are likely to come in AP Congress as well. It is expected that some strong leaders will come and join.. Some existing leaders will gain more strength. Since the parliamentary elections are held on the basis of national issues, it is expected that there will be more cross-voting towards the Congress.
