In the latest ICC Test rankings, New Zealander Kane Williamson is currently number one with a rating of 864. England’s Joe Root is second with a rating of 859.
Former Australian captain Steve Smith is third with a rating of 820. That means there is no significant change in the top three positions.
Then, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell moved up three places to fourth place with a rating of 786.
Australia batsman Usman Khawaja slipped one place to fifth with a rating of 785. Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam also slipped down one place to rank 6th with a rating of 782.
Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne rose to seventh place with a rating of 777, while England’s Harry Brooke finished eighth with a rating of 773.
Meanwhile, former India captain Virat Kohli jumped four places to the ninth position with a rating of 761. Virat Kohli scored 38 off 64 balls in the first innings of the first Test against South Africa and 76 off 82 balls in the second innings. So he got an advantage in ranking.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma lost four places. Hitman, who was previously in the top 10.. has now directly fallen to the 14th position. Currently Rohit’s rating is 719 points.
However, India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been out of the team for over a year after being injured in a car accident, is still at number 12. Currently his rating is 735 points.
