Will Kodangal Assembly Constituency rejoin Mahbubnagar District? Has CM Revanth Reddy already issued verbal orders on this? In this context, former MLA Gurunath Reddy’s comments are attracting interest.
It seems that the exercise has started on the feasibility of merging Kodangal constituency completely in Mahabubnagar district. It is reported that CM Revanth Reddy has issued verbal instructions to the officials in this regard. At present, some mandals of that constituency have been merged into Narayanapet district and some other mandals have been merged into Vikarabad district. It is known that the authorities have started the exercise to exclude them from the scope of these two districts and transfer them to Mahabubnagar district. As this is CM Revanth Reddy’s own constituency, this issue has gained importance.
A proposal to bring the mandals under the jurisdiction of other districts under a single district is under consideration. On October 12, 2016, the combined Mahabubnagar district was divided into five districts while small districts were formed. Shadnagar constituency within this district was completely separated from Palamuru district and merged into Rangareddy district. Some mandals of Kalvakurti Constituency were brought under the Nagarkurnool District and the remaining mandals were merged in Rangareddy District. Moreover, as the mandals of some constituencies were merged into the respective districts, the constituency centers became on one side and the mandals on the other side. They are currently working on fixing them.
As it is Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s own district, it is reported that the authorities are working towards changing the shape of the constituency from the boundaries of districts. In this context, former Kodangal MLA Gurunath Reddy made key comments. He said that he will try to merge Kodangal in Mahabubnagar district. Gurunath Reddy said Kodangal was merged with Vikarabad district in the previous government. He said that he wanted to fulfill his wish with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
It has to be seen if CM Revanth fulfills Gurunath Reddy’s desire to fully merge Kodangal constituency in Mahabubnagar district.
