IPL 2024: All set for player auction for 17th edition of Indian Premier League. A total of 333 players will be named in the mini auction tomorrow (December 19) at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Some of them will get a chance this time.
This means that players can only be selected for the vacant positions in each team. For example- RCB team retained 19 players this time. Only 6 seats are left. Thus the RCB team is allowed to select only 6 players.
Each team must have 18 players. That means as per IPL rules 1 team can have minimum 18 players and maximum 25 players. If some teams spend all the auction money and buy only 22 or 23 players in total, it is doubtful that 77 players will get a chance.
For example, in the 2021 season auction, the RCB team spent all their money and bought only 22 players. This left three players in the RCB team without a chance. That is, a team cannot have less than 18 players. Also buying 25 players is not mandatory.
So, after buying 18 players, the respective franchises can bid only for the players they want. This time, it seems that all the teams will not be able to settle on 25 as the bid amount of some teams is low.
A total of 19 sets have been prepared for auction this time. 5 sets of players will be auctioned in this first round. That means star batsmen, star all rounders, star bowlers and wicket keepers are divided into five sets. Bidding for the rest of the players will take place only after the auction for these players is over.
Out of the 333 players who got a place in the auction list this time, 214 are Indian players and 119 are foreign players. But the vacant slots are only 77. So it can be said that 256 players will lose their chance.
Which team has empty purse?: RCB-(Rs 23.25 Crore), CSK-(Rs 31.4 Crore), MI-(Rs 17.25 Crore), GT-(Rs 38.15 Crore), LSG-(Rs 38.15 Crore). 13.15 crores) .) , KKR-(Rs. 32.7 crores), RR-(Rs. 14.5 crores), DC-(Rs. 28.9 crores), PBKS-(Rs. 29.1 crores), SRH-(Rs. 34 crores) .
The IPL Season 17 Mini Auction will begin on Tuesday (December 19) from 1 PM onwards. Star Sports Channel can be watched live on Jio Cinema app.
